JK Drum Systems helps drummers keep their bass drum, pedals, stands and other hardware in a defined position while they play.

The products are designed for live shows, touring, backline work, studios, rehearsal rooms and home setups. They can help reduce unwanted movement and make it easier to recreate the same setup after pack-down or transport.

How it works

Choose based on what is moving and how much of your setup you want to define.

• If only your bass drum spurs move, a JK Hooves 2-Pack may be a suitable starting point.
• If your bass drum and pedal move, consider a larger JK Hooves pack.
• If several stands, pedals or rack legs move, a 16-Pack or a broader JK Drumplates® system may be more suitable.
• If you want a complete, repeatable platform for your setup, consider a JK Drumplates® rug or plate system.
• If you play at home or in a studio, JK Hooves can still be useful when your pedal, bass drum or hardware gradually shifts.

Find your setup

Count the floor contact points that you want to secure or mark.

A 2-Pack is a common starting point for two bass drum spur positions, but the correct number depends on your drum and hardware layout. A 4-Pack can cover the bass drum plus an additional pedal base, stand foot or other contact point. A 16-Pack is intended for larger setups with multiple pedals, stands, rack legs or repeatable touring positions.

You do not need to secure every piece of hardware. Start with the points that move most, then add Hooves where they make a practical difference.

Choose JK Hooves when you want to secure or mark selected hardware contact points on a compatible drum rug, carpet or plate surface.

Choose a JK Drumplates® rug or plate system when you want a broader foundation for mapping multiple pedals, stands and hardware positions.

JK Hooves and JK Drumplates® products are designed to work together as a positioning system. The rug or plates provide the compatible surface, while the Hooves define the hardware positions.

Compare the product range

First check the bass drum spurs, pedal alignment, drum rug and floor surface.

If the movement comes from the bass drum contact points and you use a compatible rug or plate system, a JK Hooves 2-Pack may be a suitable starting point. If the drum mainly moves forward against the hoop, a traditional kick block or stopper may also be worth considering.

Read the bass drum creep guide

You need to assess both the bass drum and pedal contact points.

A JK Hooves 4-Pack may be suitable when you want to define the two bass drum spur positions plus a pedal base or another moving contact point. Check that the pedal geometry fits the Hoove opening and that your rug or plate surface is compatible.

View JK Hooves

If several hardware contact points move, consider a larger JK Hooves pack or a broader JK Drumplates® system.

JK Hooves allow you to secure selected points individually. A plate system may be more suitable when you want to define a larger and more repeatable setup footprint.

Explore the product range

If the entire rug slides across the floor, JK Hooves alone may not solve the problem. The Hooves help define hardware positions relative to the compatible rug or plate surface; they do not automatically stabilise the connection between the rug and the floor.

Check the rug-to-floor connection separately. Use only venue-approved floor-protection or non-slip methods.

Read the drum rug guide

Place temporary reference marks around your bass drum, pedal and rug. Then play at the intensity you normally use during rehearsal or performance.

Check which marks have moved:

• only the bass drum;
• only the pedal;
• the bass drum and pedal together;
• another stand or hardware point;
• the entire rug;
• or the rug relative to the floor.

This helps you choose the right type and number of anchors.

How it works

Yes. JK Hooves can be useful for home drummers, rehearsal rooms, studios and semi-permanent setups.

They can help if your bass drum, pedal, hi-hat stand or other hardware gradually shifts on a hard floor or rug. They can also act as repeatable reference points when you regularly move your kit and want to rebuild the same setup quickly.

JK Hooves are modular floor-contact anchors within the JK Drumplates® product family.

They are designed to help define the position of bass drum spurs, pedal bases, stand feet, rack legs and other compatible hardware contact points on a suitable drum rug, carpet or plate system.

View JK Hooves

Place the Hooves around the hardware contact points that you want to secure or mark. The hook-side Velcro® underneath the Hooves attaches to a compatible surface.

Once the setup is positioned, the Hooves can remain attached to the compatible mat or plates during normal pack-down and transport. At the next setup, place the mat or plates down again and return the hardware to the same defined positions.

This makes setup faster and more repeatable because you do not need to measure every position from scratch.

How it works

Place JK Hooves around the hardware contact points that move or that you want to define as reference positions.

Depending on your setup, these may include:

• bass drum spurs;
• single or double pedal bases;
• hi-hat stand feet;
• cymbal stand feet;
• floor tom legs;
• rack legs;
• electronic drum rack feet;
• other compatible hardware contact points.

You do not need to lock every item. Some Hooves may be used primarily as physical and visual reference points.

Yes.

The 90-degree opening creates a mechanical corner that can brace against suitable pedal, rack or hardware profiles.

JK Hooves can be used for suitable pedal bases, hi-hat stands, cymbal stands, floor tom legs, rack legs and other hardware contact points. The hardware must sit correctly in relation to the opening and rest on a compatible rug or plate surface.

JK Hooves

No.

Use one Hoove for a contact point that you want to lock or define. You do not need to lock every hardware leg if it already remains stable.

However, adding Hooves as reference markers can still be useful. A stable stand can be marked so a drumtech, backliner or home drummer knows exactly where it belongs during the next setup.

Yes. Each JK Hoove has a label area on top that can be marked with positions such as kick, snare, hi-hat, tom or rack.

This means a Hoove can serve two functions:

• helping keep a contact point in position;
• marking where the hardware should be placed again.

Not every marked Hoove needs to be used to actively lock moving hardware.

They are designed to remain attached to a compatible drum rug or plate system during normal pack-down and transport.

After the hardware is lifted off, the Hooves remain in their defined positions on the compatible surface. The rug can then be rolled or the plates folded or transported according to the relevant product instructions.

How it works

Yes.

On surfaces designed for repositioning, JK Hooves can be moved when your hardware layout changes.

Do not assume that every Hoove can be repositioned indefinitely without additional components. Check the product page or contact JK Drum Systems if you are changing the layout.

Yes. JK Hooves are designed to support repeatable setups during rehearsals, soundchecks, live performances, touring and backline work.

Once the Hooves are mapped on the compatible rug or plates, you can pack down the kit while leaving the Hooves in position. At the next setup, lay down the same surface and return the hardware to the marked positions.

Always test the complete setup and check the venue’s rules for the rug, floor and any additional stabilisation methods.

How it works

No.

JK Hooves require a compatible surface that can securely grip the hook-side Velcro® underneath the Hooves.

The rug or carpet should have a suitable tight-knit or loop-compatible surface. Smooth, loose or incompatible materials may not provide reliable attachment.

You need a drum rug or carpet with a surface that accepts hook-side Velcro.

The rug also needs to be stable on the floor. A rug can be compatible with the Hooves while still sliding across a smooth stage, so both connections must be considered:

1. Hoove to rug or plate.
2. Rug or plate to floor.

View JK Drumplates® drum rugs

You can perform a simple home test on the actual rug or mat.

Place a small piece of standard hook-and-loop tape, such as the type used for shoes, cable management or equipment straps, onto the surface. If the hook side grips securely to the rug’s loop surface, that is a positive indication that JK Hooves may work with the rug.

This home test is a useful indication, but it does not replace checking the product requirements or contacting JK Drum Systems if you are unsure.

Test the actual surface you intend to use, not only a similar-looking piece of carpet.

No. They work on carpet when the carpet has a suitable tight-knit, Velcro-compatible surface.

Not all carpets are constructed the same way. Test the actual carpet and confirm compatibility before using it for a live performance.

Not directly.

JK Hooves are designed to attach to a compatible rug, carpet or plate surface. They are not intended to grip directly to bare wood, concrete, polished floors or smooth stage surfaces.

No. JK Hooves need a compatible rug, carpet or plate surface.

They are not designed for direct attachment to bare wood, concrete or a smooth floor.

Yes.

The 90-degree opening creates a mechanical corner that can help define the position of a suitable pedal base or hardware profile.

Stop drum pedal from sliding

The product page states that JK Hooves are compatible with drum hardware from all major brands and accommodate a wide range of hardware shapes and profiles.

However, compatibility still depends on the specific contact point, dimensions, hardware geometry, the 90-degree opening and the surface being used. Do not interpret the claim as meaning that every hardware configuration fits automatically.

If you have an unusual setup, send JK Drum Systems a photograph or description before ordering.

Check:

• what part of your setup is moving;
• how many positions you want to lock or mark;
• whether your rug or plates accept hook-side Velcro®;
• whether the hardware fits correctly around the 90-degree opening;
• whether a single or double pedal assembly has enough clearance;
• whether the rug itself stays stable on the floor;
• whether the selected pack contains enough Hooves;
• whether you are using a P-Series, SP-Series or another configuration;
• whether the venue permits your intended setup.

Do not rely on JK Hooves until the hardware and surface have been checked.

Contact JK Drum Systems with a photograph or description of your setup. Include the rug material, hardware type, number of contact points and whether the issue occurs at home, in a studio or on stage.

Contact JK Drum Systems

JK Drum Systems is the company and brand behind the products.

JK Drumplates® is the product family that includes JK Hooves, drum rugs and modular stabilising plate systems.

In short:

• JK Drum Systems = the brand and company.
• JK Drumplates® = the product family.
• JK Hooves = modular hardware anchors within that product family.

JK Hooves are individual modular anchors that define selected hardware contact points.

JK Drumplates® is the broader product family, including drum rugs and stabilising plate systems that provide the compatible surface or structured platform for the Hooves.

The system works through the combination:

• the rug or plates provide the base and attachment structure;
• the Hooves define the hardware positions;
• the labels and mapped positions help reproduce the setup.

JK Hooves are placed around the floor contact points of your bass drum, pedals, stands or other hardware.

Depending on the product, the JK Drumplates® rug or plate system provides a compatible surface or structured platform. The Hooves then help define the hardware positions on that surface.

Once the layout is established, the Hooves can remain on the mat or plates during normal pack-down, allowing the system to be placed again without measuring every position from scratch.

Check the individual product page for the exact surface, contents and repositioning method of each series.

JK Drumplates® plate systems

Not always.

You may only need JK Hooves if you already own a compatible rug or carpet. A JK Drumplates® rug or plate system may be more suitable if you want a complete, compatible foundation and a broader setup footprint.

Some products are sold as complete configurations, while others may be carpet-only or have different included components. Check the product page before ordering.

A drum rug is a rollable or foldable carpeted surface for your kit and hardware.

A plate system provides a more structured platform that can be assembled to support a broader hardware footprint. Different plate systems may use different surface technologies and connection methods.

For example, the website describes:

• P-Series as a smooth, flat platform;
• SP-Series as a velvet, Velcro-compatible surface.

A broader JK Drumplates® rug or plate system may be suitable when you want to define the positions of multiple pedals, stands, rack legs and other hardware points.

If only one or two contact points move, JK Hooves may be the simpler option.

JK Hooves are useful when you want to define selected contact points while keeping the system modular.

A broader plate system may be more suitable when you want to map a larger footprint and recreate it at different venues.

Consider:

• total setup size;
• packed dimensions;
• transport method;
• venue surfaces;
• setup time;
• number of hardware points;
• whether positions need to change between artists.

For a fixed or semi-fixed home or studio setup, choose the smallest system that solves the movement problem.

JK Hooves can be useful when a pedal, bass drum, hi-hat stand or rack gradually shifts. A broader rug or plate system may be more suitable if you want to define the complete footprint of the kit.

No tools or permanent modifications are required to position JK Hooves.

1. Place the compatible rug or plate system.
2. Set up your kit in the desired playing position.
3. Identify the contact points.
4. Place the Hooves around those points.
5. Press them into the compatible surface.
6. Mark the label areas if useful.
7. Test the full setup at normal playing intensity.

How it works

No tools are required to position JK Hooves.

Set up the kit in a comfortable playing position first.

Then position the Hooves around the relevant hardware contact points. Use the label zone on top to mark positions such as KICK, HH, RIDE, TOM or RACK.

Marking can be useful even when a hardware point does not need to be actively locked. The Hoove then acts as a visual and physical reference for the next setup.

The main benefit is that the Hooves can remain on the compatible mat or plate system.

1. Lift the hardware off the mat or plates during pack-down.
2. Leave the Hooves in their mapped positions.
3. Roll or fold the mat, or transport the plates, according to the product instructions.
4. At the next setup, place the mat or plates down with the Hooves already in position.
5. Return the bass drum, pedals and other hardware to the same reference points.

This is faster and more consistent than measuring and aligning the complete setup again.

How it works

Yes.

Once the Hooves are mapped, they provide ready-made physical and visual reference points for your hardware.

Instead of rebuilding the layout from memory or measuring every position, you can place the mat or plates and return the hardware to the existing positions.

Yes.

The system is designed for repeatable setup and teardown during touring, live performances, festival changeovers and backline work.

The Hooves can remain attached to the compatible mat or plates, so the mapped positions travel with the setup. Always inspect the connection after transport and confirm that the venue allows the rug, plates and any additional stabilisation methods.

Yes. JK Hooves can help maintain consistent positions between recording takes, rehearsals and sessions.

They may be useful when the relationship between the bass drum, pedal, hi-hat and other hardware needs to remain consistent.

Yes.

You do not need to tour to benefit from a more repeatable drum setup.

JK Hooves can help home drummers when:

• a pedal moves on a hard floor;
• a bass drum gradually creeps forward;
• a hi-hat stand shifts;
• an electronic drum rack moves;
• the kit is regularly packed away;
• the same setup needs to be recreated in a rehearsal room or studio.

Yes. A drumtech can use separate rugs, plate systems, labels or mapped positions for different artists.

The label area on each Hoove can identify positions such as kick, hi-hat, rack or tom. This gives the crew a clearer reference when rebuilding different setups.
